The inquiry into the purpose of the universe has long been regarded as a perplexing enigma, one that many believed could only be unraveled in the realm of the afterlife.

However, I now contend that through the application of reason and logic, we can arrive at a satisfactory and perhaps indisputable resolution.

Various perspectives have been proposed in response to this existential question, with some asserting the absence of any inherent purpose, others advocating for theological exploration, and still others advocating for the personal selection of purpose.

I align myself with the latter camp, wherein I affirm my ability to designate a purpose.

This stance is unique in that it encompasses the previous two viewpoints: in the event that the universe lacks a definitive purpose, I am empowered to impose purpose from my own vantage point.

Even if a deity or higher being presides over my existence with a predetermined agenda, I am still able to attribute purpose from my own perspective. Objects and events may serve distinct purposes for various entities or may even appear purposeless altogether, yet they can hold a distinct purpose for me personally.

By imbuing my actions and behaviors with purpose, I can navigate the complexities of free will in the following manner: I can cognize the dedication of my life to a specific objective, formulate a plan to achieve said objective, execute this plan with unwavering determination, and ultimately realize the fulfillment of my goal. In every instance where this progression occurs, be it over a lifespan or a fleeting moment, a genuine purpose for my existence is established, if only within the confines of my own consciousness.
